Has any government ever defeated its own people when the people have small arms? I doubt that statement about F-15s even holds up to an honest review of military history. It really seems wrong to claim that a nation’s government which has control of its military (including dictators?) can defeat its own people when those people possess ample small arms. But some military history buffs might come up with examples in history? I don’t know of any.

In many cases it is the very military that pulls the plug on the " ruling politicritters " at the helm. The way I see it. sniffy and his marry gang of wayward clowns are on pretty thin ice at the moment.

Looking at the list of civil wars since WWII, there havent been any civil wars in countries that had any kind of aerial military ability other than Libya, at least not with USA or Russia support.

That application works on many things.

This is why dictators work so hard to disarm populations.
disarming goes beyond just the tools of small arms , but extends to organization in nearly any form.
