First rule of safe gun handling-when someone hands you a gun or when you pick up a gun, keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction then immediately check to see if its loaded.
He will get off with a slap on the wrist at trial-but will be ruined financially in civil court after.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Problem is these hollywood city slickers don't have a clue about safe gun handling or have the backgroud in firearms safety training that the hunters in rural areas take for granted. He probably knows about as much about safe firearms handling as the thug in Chicago who buys a gun on the street.

Thing is, as I understand it, they can't actually force you to pay on a civil case. Again, my understanding anyway.

Maybe it should be a prerequisite for all of theses anti gun movie stars that make their living, carelessly handling firearms in the movies . To join the NRA and take a firearm safety course. As soon as someone picks up a firearm, the onus is on them to check if it’s loaded and handle it safely.

I agree. Exactly what we teach in firearms safety training, muzzle in a safe direction then check to see if it's loaded.

I would like to see him incarcerated, but you're probably right. He should get sued to high heaven.

Baldwin has already settled the civil suit with the family of the woman killed. Baldwin is still rich.

Good point. Where was the gun owner. Plenty of laws out there to make gun owners keep their guns safe from children and idiots.
Where was the gun owner when this panty wearing idiot picked it up. Isn't it the responsibility of the gun owner to show the Baldwins' of the world which end the bullets come out of?

And who loaded it with a live round(s) and why? The armorer's one job is literally to keep all weapons safe and secure. Once she screwed that pooch, everything after was basic gun safety.

This is my understanding as well. Really his lawyer was brilliant. Settle for pennies before the criminal case knowing that the civil case would be much stronger after the criminal case, which he is very likely to lose but get no real punishment.

If I remember correctly one of the main concessions in the civil case was giving her husband production credit in the movie when it is completed. It sounds to me like getting himself famous was more important than his wife's life. I think the whole bunch involved in this project are a bunch of degenerates.

I believe once his court case is settled and he feels he's in the clear, he will come out as a leading spokesperson for even stronger gun controls. This guy has no shame (or talent) and will use himself as a victim to promote his own agenda.

I hope that womans family sues him into bankruptcy. After he does 5 years in the New Mexico pen like any one of us would if we shot somebody with a gun we thought was unloaded.

Surly not every member of her family signed off

Yep. He should be convicted and even actors should have to verify what’s in the chamber before “action”.
