Would this be worth pursuing or is there not enough money to be made in it? I’m figuring if someone were to really get after large population animals such as muskrats or beaver there would be money in this, even gophers and ground squirrels for that matter.

Trapper.38 - in my opinion, your thinking is backwards.

Large population species like muskrat and beaver means there are lots of skulls available. Market is easily flooded..

The money is in skulls that aren’t common. Kit fox, hog nosed skunks, ringtails, wolverine (if you are in Alaska, etc.

Supply and demand.

There's a business to be had at craft shows, pow wows, fairs etc....
Find your niche. Small time weekend money may be your market without competition
