I've met and worked with some of the guys at the sheriff Dept and they seem like common sense kinda people with no time for petty bs

So I'm not a full fledged cop hater ......just antigov

Stress level was high today for various reasons , and then this cop puts the icing on the cake

Agree with you . I talked to a Illinois State Trooper at the state fair last year and asked him if cell use was worse than drunk driving his answer was last year the fatalities were equal.

In WV it is SUPPOSED to be ILLEGAL for the Police to pull you over for not wearing a seat belt. YET I was driving my 67 chevy pick up and was pulled over. When he approached my vehicle he asked me why I was not wearing my seat belt. I told him I was going to report him to the ethics committe for violating the law pulling me over for WEARING a seat Belt. He started to argue about me not having it on until I opened the door and showed him it is a LAP BELT in 1967. You cannot see the shoulder belt because it does not have one. He walked away and I am still waiting for my day in court over the ILLEGAL actions of the Officer!!!

Almost everyhody, at least occasionally and many people, most of the time, talk on their cell phones while driving. Much, much fewer people drive drunk. You can't meaningfully compare those statistics, without knowing the frequency of the occurrences.

I would guess many, many more thousands of hours are spent by drivers on the phone than by drivers driving drunk.

To me it is no different then eating and driving, if they are going to allow no phone talking, then everything thing other thing should outlaw, including singing while driving.
