Taking my Bride to Gulf Shores the first week of February. Never been there. Would like to try some fishing while I'm there. Going to be staying on Bon Secour Bay. Any tips/advice would be great.

Great place ! I spend 2 weeks just down the road in ft Morgan. Lot of local charters in that area but in February might be hard to find one Google is your friend.

Bon Secour is out on the Ft Morgan peninsula. Most of the charters are out of Perdido Pass on the other end of Orange Beach.

Check out the Florabama while you're in Orange Beach. Not what it once was but it's still a great watering hole.

Gulf State Park and the State Fishing Pier is between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Little known secret, you can get in some good FRESHWATER fishing in the state park. Trust me that coffee colored stuff is fresh water. Just keep an eye peeled for the long-tailed bullfrogs and the grinners that ain't a possum. And no it's not to cold for them to be out.

i was there in feb last year and fished with Todd Morgan sunrise charters fort morgan had a great time 251-979-0584 caught sheeps head, trout, black drum. we had a house on the beach so i surf fished also

We found a small private place on the bay. It has a pier that i could fish from. My Bride (39 years) probably won't fish, she would much rather read a book on the beach or on the pier. I will check out Sunrise Charters. Thanks

We've been renting a place in Fort Morgan for the last 14 years. If you want to fish in the Gulf take Hwy 180 west to Veterans Ave which has access to the sugar sand beach. Be prepared, you could catch a 10 inch Whiting or a 20+ lb. Black or Red Drum. I take Reel Surprise Charters for bottom fishing in the Gulf, 251-981-7373. Check out the Fresh Market Seafood for fresh shrimp. They will cook them for you. Also, lots of Mardi Gras activity prior to Fat Tuesday. You'll have fun.
