Several years ago at our WTA fall convention, Leo Hoeft was giving a canine demo and Leo was down on his knees on a pile of dirt with 3-4 number 3 size traps, some coils and some double longs. He was going over several sets and guiding etc. Some one from the audience asked for another type of set or approach. Leo reached behind him without looking and put his hand squarely in a #3 double longspring. Without flinching, changing or raising his voice he swung thre trap over to his knee and opened the trap. Leo said " I guess this shows that sometimes it is good to use weak springed traps". He just kept right on doing his demo. The crowd and myself really enjoyed that incident and all of the information Leo wa willing to share.
Bryce One of Leo's custom pack baskets sits in my office in a position of humble remembrance, Leo was a skilled trapper and a kind friend and I miss him. Blessings, Mark

Not from a trapper, but from a strongman coach. "People often fail because they don't want to do the things that suck." Another good one.

Blessings, Mark 10X- the first time I was in his furshed I probably wore diapers-In addition to my father, Leo Hoeft and Ray Hoeft are the reason I started trapping.
