Hello

I got two beavers this morning. I didn't skin them because I came down with the flu or something. Feel like crap.

If I skin them out tomorrow, will any of the meat still be good? Anyone with experience please answer.

They're in c. 32-34 F. weather sitting outside.

Thank you.

Did you gut them?
Regardless they will be OK until tomorrow.

I always lay them belly up on a concrete floor. They値l keep good that way.
If you池e eating them you値l want to skin then tomorrow. Just skinning for the fur I like to let them lay a couple days. They値l bleed less while skinning.

I'm with Claycreech. Actually I'm sure you could still safely consume that meat even if you waited 3-4 days. Myself just for my own inane squeamishness I prefer to take meat off of beaver that are only a day or two removed from the water.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I always skin the day after being caught or the 2nd day and they are good as long as the weather is cool.

Thank you everyone!!

After inspecting both livers like I normally would, and found ok, I kept all the meat except that which touched the organs but probably could have done that too. It was all very cold, leaving outside last night whole seemed just fine.

Thank you all for helping me here.
