Anyone have any experience with them -- I love my Leopolds, and burris (handgun) but have been ? on the vortec performance wise. Went to the local gun show today and was looking -- I liked the eye relief and (seemed ok ) clarity -- but was wondering if anyone here has had some experience with them? Honestly I don't think I have given the Vortec the testing it deserves as I was always using their low end models ----------- Input? I am very old school when it comes to scope --i like duplex reticle -- knobs and buttons don't help me in the least -- give me a decent eye relief range and a large objective and I am a s happy as I get. grin Any other thoughts or options are appreciated.

Never used the Osprey but if you love Leupold, why not stick with them?

$$$ -- They are local and i do like to support that but I am not paying 1k+ for a scope that is worth more than the gun it is on.

I understand. The Vortex and lower end Leupolds are good enough for me. I hope you find the info you're after.

I also have a preference for variables with a very low low end and a very high high end -- I love my 6.5-20 but 6.5 power in the brush does not work well for me -- ideal for me would be a 3-20 or a 4- 24 or along those lines --- I guess my expectations are too high -- Then again technology has never ever been my friend.

Not sure I understand that. A gun is only as good as its optics when it comes to visibility and range. I’d prefer a $400 gun and a $1K scope vs a $1K gun and a $400 scope.
Same with ammo. People will buy the high end guns/bows and then the cheapest ammo/broadheads they can find.
Most of the time none of that matters, it all starts behind the gun/bow.

don't agree with that -- it is a 3 way combo -- all have to pull their weight.

Bought one a few years ago , thought it was awesome. One target shooting dealz many 20rd of 5.56 out of my AR and it was busted. Turrets wouldn't adjust the reticle anymore ect. The sales person at the gun show really talked me into it talking about how their 50cal rated yadda yadda. Further more couldn't get anyone to answer when I tried calling customer service. Looked into it and my experience seems to o be the norm at the time. Takes a good bit gor me to say a company is a no go but Osprey Global IS ONE !!!

If you want a cheap optic I'd reccomend Monstrum. Their cheap and their stuff seems to break Evey now and then but there customer service is AMAZING!
