Thinking about getting a vacuum sealer, what are some good ones for under $200?

I have a Foodsaver brand. The $149 model from Sam's Club. I have used it fairly heavily for two years. It's about worn out. It still works, but the lid catch doesn't hold anymore so it is a pita to line up the bag for sealing. Also, bags are stupidly expensive. I have been using the Kirkland bags from Costco because they are about half the price of Foodsaver brand bags, but they are not the quality of Foodsaver bags. They work, but they often have wrinkles and are difficult to seal. Overall, it's been a decent machine for the price.

Food savors work good for about 2-3 years of good use, then they give up. We do use it quite a lot.

Foodsaver brand purchased in 2016. I have only used it 4-5 times. Putting rats in for storage.
Some of the rats were from 2016. I opened and sent them to get tanned. They look great.

LEM. Max vac 500. Not $200 but $350. Been using for at least 5 years. Over the time it’s saved me a bunch. Lot of items like shrimp chowder I put in seal bags and freeze first before sealing. It’s not the greatest with wet stuff but it locks food. Best one I ever had for the price thanks for that I looked it up and that will probably be my next one , I am on my second food saver brand and since it was a gift can't beat the price but one of the things I like about LEM is parts https://www.lemproducts.com/product/maxvac-500-vacuum-sealer/all-vacuum-sealer-productsthey have seals , gaskets and most importantly sealer strips , the sealer strips are 2.50 each I would buy some of those to keep on hand , that is always what goes on the food savers for me is the sealer strip I buy bags in 2x50 foot rolls off amazon https://www.amazon.com/Gamesaver-Weston-Commercial-Puncture-Prevention/dp/B07TMZDGQ1/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3MC70YSX83LR2&keywords=vacuum%2Bbags%2Bfood&qid=1674663436&sprefix=vacuum%2Bbags%2Bfood%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-2-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyR09EV1M3Sk1OSEtEJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTkxMzM5MUhNRVRTMU5FQkZKTiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjk4MjI3M0gwSkVXRVhGTEhPOSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1 did about 350 pounds of meat this year in these bags

Green I use the same bags but went to the pre cut. Easier and a lot faster to use. But I put the same amount in each bag everytime. I know how big a portion for just My wife and I or if the whole family is coming for supper. I like the versatility of uncut , they can be a little more labor , but some times I am making 1 pound packs for daughter when she is living away at school other times family packs at about 3 pounds sometimes a big chunk of biscuit or if I am packing fish

Foodsaver Here. Be sure to keep the gasket in the vac chamber limber and clean to function. .Be sure to take pauses when sealing to keep from overheating the heat strip. Wet and liquids are a hassle
The plus is I can buy them all summer long at yard sales. Cheap gamble and usually easy to correct any issues.
I do like the ones with canning jar vac. attachments. Dried mushrooms, fruits and other Herbs.
Fortunately I bought enough bags to last my lifetime 12-15 yrs ago in a bulk sale.

One bad thing about the nesco and other models that have the ears that the bag must go under , is if your using roll bag material it curls. Sometimes when you close the lid if it jumps up over the ear it want seal. Has nothing to do with the quality of the product . Just ease of using it. On the black and decker as long as the bag is in the area of the black gasket it works great. Another thing on my black and decker the vacumn chamber lifts out so you can wash it. You seal 25 lbs of chicken legs and their is a lot of liquid standing in the tray. No ears on mine.
