Dig a hole and dump bucket after each use. Shovel a little dirt in hole after each dump.

Start with a little water in bucket so nothing sticks then dump and bury after each use

I use sawdust (or turnings/shavings). Bottom line is that poop stinks, and nothing will change that. Keep it away from places where you spend time. Empty it often if you can't get it far enough away.

Dry composting toilets I have seen all use peat moss to catch the solids. Use it, give it a shake. Lasts weeks. Liquids need to go somewhere else. Dry composting toilets have a catch jug for that. One you dump after each use.

saw dust or peat moss

bucket with toilet seat and lid I use a Luggable Loo

farm and fleet sells them or you can order the lid from amazon
https://www.amazon.com/72-HRS-Emerg...&hvtargid=pla-571221766264&psc=1

I think Cabelas has them also ,search on line they are quite common

anything will work if it gives you a reasonably decent seal

2 buckets 1 with saw dust , the other you start with a layer of saw dust 2-3 inches , you want something like a 28oz tin can to scoop your saw dust from your saw dust bucket to the toilet bucket.

every time you go , you lift the lid , doo your doody , or #1 then cover you excrement's with saw dust or peat , actually dirt or mulched leaves work also , carbon it locks in the odor , close the lid to contain the little that might get out.
snap a tight lid on when you transport , put in compost pile at home when you return
it needs a hot pile or a year wait to use on your garden
you could make a separate pile for excrement only of course with a carbon matter cover after dumping each time.

wash out the bucket with soap and water , a toilet brush you leave by the compost can be handy, flip it over let it dry and repeat as needed

if you want all the specifics the Humanure handbook has the science and more details it is printed in a pile of languages for use world wide.

Side note. Door frame of pickup truck makes a great loo. Just open the door and sit in the V. Radio, cup holder, napkins all generally within reach. Comfortable with a degree of privacy. Passenger side works best…unless you have a passenger. But that’s…er uh, on them. This has been a public service announcement.

Then where do you put the bag?

In the weekly trash. In the burning barrel. Use paper bags and bury it.

* put them on the neighbors step. Add L.fluid light bag. Knock loudly and run.

Sometimes you have to be creative...

years ago when I was doing some plumbing I took the advice of 5 gallon pail , 3 inches of water and a generous glug glug glug of pine-sol this is basically a recipe for porta Jon fluid diy version keep a lid on it when not in use.

when you have all your plumbing back together you dump your bucket down the toilet

it definitely works but plopping into liquid , no thanks count me out on splash back

so I would pass on anything that involves water in the bucket

Do a Google search for "groover management rafting" and you can read yourself silly. Most popular rafting rivers have requirements to pack out all human waste. Rafters have it down to a science. We always just have a bag of laundry detergent next to the groover and put a scoop on top when your done. If you want some more entertainment look up SCAT machine which is the dump facility at the take out sick
