Tanks are offensive weapons. Tanks have not fared well in recent conflicts due to drones. Seems like there is a real chance we are sending Ukraine steel coffins but we shall see.

I read an interesting article on this yesterday about how Russia is preparing for a major conflict ie. 500,000 troops, converting factories to war time production, strategically placing missile defense systems, and preparing bomb shelters in the cities. This isn't including the mercenaries already fighting in Ukraine. China has been essentially doing the same, however the US/ NATO aren't preparing at all and from what I've been reading the US/ NATO are woefully unprepared. Seems to me the US/ NATO are sleep walking into a major war we aren't prepared for.

And as for Abrams tank technology, how many did we leave in Afghanistan ? Russia and China already have all of that technology.

I'd say those tanks will be defensive weapons until such time that
they crossed into legitimate Russian territory.

The Crimean Peninsula, the Donetsk and Luhansk and any other territory
that Russia has invaded since last February are not legitimate Russian territory

And parts of Syria was not legitimate Israeli territory until it was. There is a legal and binding way for territory to shift from one country to another and there is still might makes right.

If Russia holds these territories they will be Russian, just like Isreal has seized territory.

Was my understanding that part of the agreement with Russia over leaving eastern Germany was Nato not allowing more countries along the Russian front to join. This was obviously ignored and Russia is not willing to allow any more. I am not sure about this, just something that was mentioned to me.
