Never going to get past the Senate, and it looks like pandering to me since they know this. However, it would be a great thing. If they were serious about the ATF, they could just defund them for now, that would at least be a start.

GOP House Members Introduce Bill to Repeal National Firearms Act

A group of Republican House members led by Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) put forth legislation Wednesday to repeal the National Firearms Act (1934), thereby stripping the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) of the ability to turn law-abiding gun owners into criminals.

The legislation is called the Repeal the NFA Act.

Burlison tweeted: “The Repeal the NFA Act will strip the ATF of its authority to criminalize lawful gun owners and undo nearly 90 years of assault on our fundamental freedoms. I’m proud to stand with Americans nationwide as we take this issue head-on.”

Burlison told the Daily Caller, “The federal government has used the National Firearms Act for almost a century to violate law-abiding citizens’ Second Amendment rights. The recent ATF pistol brace rule is just another example of these blatant attacks on the constitutional rights of Americans. The ATF-NFA sham needs to end.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), a co-sponsor of Burlison’s bill, noted, “I applaud Rep. Burlison’s legislation that would prevent the federal government from imposing draconian registration mandates on law-abiding gun owners. Anti-gun zealots have enacted policies that create increased government bureaucracy and do nothing to reduce gun violence.”

Another co-sponsor of Burlison’s bill, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), is simultaneously pushing to eliminate the ATF.

On January 20, 2023, Breitbart News reported Gaetz’s introduction of the Abolish the ATF Act.

Gaetz tweeted his intentions, writing, “House Republicans have the ATF in our crosshairs. The continued existence of the ATF is increasingly unwarranted based on their repeated actions to convert law-abiding citizens into felons. My bill today would abolish the ATF once and for all.”

I hope it goes to the Senate. I want to see how that crooked rat Jerry Moran votes on it.

That’s why I voted for Burlison. He is trying to actually get what the people want. However I’m sure it is frustrating to not make much traction, this will be a hard one to get through.

Won't ever go through with this administration. It would never get through the Senate. If the government was like it was during Trumps first two years, I would say it had a good chance. Then we would also see who was real and who was pandering. Although most of us already know the answer to that question.

They only actually propose these pro gun things when there is no chance of passing. When they control all 3 branches they never push it. They don't want it they just want to say see look I tried but the democrats blocked me! Reelection donations can be sent to this address......

This has about as much chance as a snowball in (self censored) would like to see them support the Term Limits Amendment Proposal which would be more likely to get passed.

I believe a term limit bill would get about the same amount of traction in either body. Wish they would both pass, but……

As long as there are back stabbing leaches like Mitch Mc , Graham and some others farting into the seat cushions of the congress, Stuff like that will never pass, to gather with anything else that would be good for the people.

Pandering and posturing.
If it had any chance of passing, they'd never have introduced it, lol

ATF has not put the brace ruling in the national registry yet , they have major issues with event the legal language, if they never do it never takes effect they can quietly back away and forget they printed 293 pages of nonsense and leave things how they are

republicans can say they did something , Brandon can say he instructed the ATF to do all they could do.

of it does that much then it did something

yes NFA needs to go

it is an illegal tax from the get go

Ok, I never claimed to be the smartest shed in the lightbulb lol. But, am I wrong in saying that the atf can make rules all they want, but just try to circumvent Congress, who makes laws and just hope all will listen and follow even though they haven't the power to do so?

We all know this bill is posturing and won't go anywhere, R's are just as naughty as D's. Am I wrong?

Yes that's the fact catch22 in fact Trump is the one who signed the red flag laws by directive order.

So both sides are bad and the majority of both sides work for the same banks, lobbyist and NGOs that operate the world govt. The entire system is commiting suicide and hoping we take ourselves out in the process..

We don't have to play along. We have the Declaration of Independence and all the guns. Nearly 200M gun owners, 450M guns and billions of rounds of ammo. 1% of us could never be stopped. 10% of us is bigger than every first world military combined.

All the Trump supporters crack me up. You dig him because he put money in your wallet, doesn't make him right or just. I'm no D, but I see. I see that our Gov't is corrupt and most go along with it because they apparently have better things to do. You don't have better things to do, if you want Freedom, get involved. Legally we have the numbers, lets put the right people in office starting in our own backyard. Unlike some idiots, there is hope!

I’m running for Senate next go around. I promise the first thing I’m gonna do when I get to DC is throat punch Adam Schiff and right after that Mitch McConnell. Can I count on y’all’s support?

We could follow the U.S. Constitution and call for a Convention of States and eliminate any alphabet agency we want. Or we could let the politicians take care of it.
