Scott, what do they do if they get in the attic ? Probably chew stuff....

I did two ADC jobs in 2012 where the wiring was chewed do bad the renters had to get a motel until I got them all and an electrician did all the repairs.

grin Fun entertainment for me too. They’re a hoot when they hit a tree trunk too hard and bounce as they hold on with tenacity .

They don't do as much structural damage chewing compared to other animals , but they like wiring. It is soft and easy to chew. Seen it a bunch.

I'm now thinking about using BX cable in areas of risk instead of Romex.

Having seen the damage over the years I would seriously consider running everything in conduit if I were building from scratch.
