Set my first ever beaver foothold set on Sunday and harvested a 17lb wood muncher Monday. Reset the trap Monday afternoon and Tuesday managed to harvested a single beaver toenail as I offset my trap too wide (theory). Not ideal and disappointed in myself for being too excited about my first beaver that I didn't pay attention to how offset the trap was and had a miss. Nothing Wednesday and then Thursday connected again. 32.50lb beaver. This week has been a blessing and if not for this website, I'd be not as successful as I was in my first week of beaver trapping. Stuff happens. Not a one size fits all when trapping with offset or space back. Just set the trap and keep catching. Congrats on some early success!

It was not. The toeless wood muncher still lurks. I'll get em' though and will know when I do. wink
