Something a little different than my usual plant videos. Had some trail cam clips of barred owls dive bombing frogs in our pond so I made a shorter - long form video (as opposed to those vertical format shorts). The clips are not long because the owls really get in an out in a hurry, but I slow them down a bit.

Hope you find it interesting.

Anthony

Cool, we had an owl as a pet when we were kids. Thing loved crawfish more than anything else.

That is very good footage of something many people rarely see One of the things I liked about checking traps in the early morning dark was I was out n the woods when most people where still in bed That often meant I got to see things that many others never saw .Learning about the outdoors is a life long event Thanks for some insight about the barred owl and how they catch and eat frogs.

I lost a lot of guineas for several years. A few years back the farmer who owns the rough ditch right next to my property, and next to the trees where my guineas stayed, cleaned out the brush and trees there. Got rid of the problem by a stroke of luck! Also built a good pen for them, and only had one problem since. Heard a ruckus down there about ten during the summer, so it had just got dark. Run down there, flashlight in hand, found a barred owl on top of one of my female full grown ducks. Wish I could kill them, as they have eaten a lot of my live stock. They kill big birds also, not just little birds!

Enjoyed the video

Had the same issue Lee, something picking off guineas. Stupid things would not go in the chicken house.

Couple of years ago I would hear a bird of some sort when I was walking to my deer stand in the mornings. I thought it might be a night heron or something similar. Turned out to be a juvenile Great Horned owl

Another good video Anthony. We have several species of owls around my house. I love hearing them at night. I never thought much about what they eat but that they are good froggers doesn't surprise me.

Eh...wot?

Was just looking at your 18 species trail cam compilation and curious what camera you use?

yotetrapper30 - all of my trail cams are Browning Recon series, mostly Recon Forces. They seem to hold up well and take good video - I rarely set them to just snap pics since I use a lot of the video clips on YouTube.

Thanks. I liked that it recorded sound. None of mine do. I have a watering hole out back and was thinking of setting up a camera like you did.

They do a really good job on sound and the picture quality is good. My newest ones will shoot in 4K but you better have the biggest SD card the camera can handle or they fill up too quickly.
