I’ve been confined this season to trapping the only canyon I can get to on a four wheeler after work, so I’ve had about ten sets out give or take on about 1 square mile. It’s the first time I’ve trapped this particular canyon. There’s a big Tom bobcat I’m after, I just barely missed him the last time he passed through. I also just barely missed a lion yesterday, and I’m okay with that one lol. Anyways, just wanted to share some pics. Wish I woulda taken more, but sometimes I’m in a hurry while checking and don’t take the time.

You guys seem to have a pile of foxes. Fox have become rare around here.

We do, it’s a little surprising given the numbers of coyotes, bobcats and lions we have. The fox have found a way to survive though. I haven’t caught any kit fox this season though because I’ve been keeping to the high country, so only reds and greys. The kits seem to prefer the sagebrush flats. I feel pretty lucky to live where I can catch numbers of coyotes, bobcat, and 3 different species of fox. The trade off is water trapping is nearly non-existent. I may run a lot of kit fox sets next season in between canyons on my way to check cat sets. By then I hope to have a pickup, and I’ve worked out my schedule at work so that next trapping season I can trap 4 days a week and work 3.

Glad you're able to get a truck. A pickup truck seems like a necessity for trapping.

Trapping from a four wheeler really limits the amount of country I can cover. Next season I’ll be running over 200 miles round trip.

The four-wheeler also limits what you can carry. Maybe you have some intricate racks/~baskets built.
