definitly every truck needs console bullets / glove box bullets / door pocket bullets depending on what your storage space is

I save the plastic slide top boxes to refill with bulk

always some 12ga also #4 and a few slugs

I just don't keep any guns in the truck any more , that comes and goes with me

I carry a pistol trapping and use CCI Segmented the highest velocity. I use it for coyotes, coons etc.and have killed lions taken with my dog, one shot in the lung area. It is more than I need for trapped animals but have added several animals over the years that a lower velocity ammo would noy be suitable.

Cci mini mags or cci stingers depends which gun I have with me. I carry cci hp shorts in my marlin 39 they get alot more done than one would think, they are quiet and it holes 27 if I remember correctly. You can order direct from cci.

Cci makes one they call tactical. Lots cheaper than say ely but a bit higher than a standard round. Copper plated bullet.

I'm talking rifles. Long shots for small game hunting. I do understand not to change bullets when you find one that works but sometimes you can't get those bullets.

I see midway USA has CCI AR Tactical. I know its a strange name but it really is premium 22 ammo.

What are you calling a long shot? For me squirrel hunting, anything over 30 yrds. is a long shot.

This is at 40 yards. Aiming at the blue just under the tape line. Look out squirrels.

For years I thought my Ruger 10/22 was the finest squirrel hunting rifle made. And it is, for head shooting squirrel at 25 yards or so; for me. And I thought .22 Remington Golden Bullets and WW Super X were the best bullets for squirrel hunting there was.

Then I bought a CZ bolt action .22 rifle. More accurate, a higher level of accuracy. If you want to lay out even more money for better accuracy you can step up to Anchutz rifles. My CZ with no wind can do 3/4 MOA at 100y. Anchutz can do better than that with expensive Ely Tenex ammo. But, you don't really need that kind of accuracy to tater a squirrel.

I'm rambling here.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that if you have an off the shelf .22 hunting rifle, (10/22, Marlin 60 etc.) and shooting squirrel and rabbits at woods ranges, almost any ammo is good enough. Squirrel hunting, I still take the same old Golden Bullets with me to head shoot a squirrel at 30 yards or so. Premium ammo is a waste in an off the shelf hunting rifle .22 IMO.

To answer your question on what is the best? I'd say Ely Tenex Black Box at 18 bux a box last I knew. Very consistent stuff.

Your target looks good enough to me.

Eley or accuracy and CCI for whatever else.

There are a number of match long rifle rounds being made.

I shoot a vudoo and they designed their action around the specs of the Lapua cartridge. I have also had some of the best results in a couple different cz 457s with Lapua. But I’ve also had more lots of various Lapua cartridges than I have eley.

Lapua - x-act
Lapua- Midas +
Lapua- center x

Sk- rifle match
Sk- long range

Eley- tenex
Eley- match

RWS- r50
RWS-r100
RWS- r plus

I would put any of these at the top of the list with the best personal results from Lapua Midas +.Lapua also announced a couple new rimfire cartridges at shot this year that are supposed to be geared towards long range precision rimfire

If you aren’t splurging for what they consider “match” long rifle ammo I believe that cci standard velocity is impossible to beat however. The cci green tag however is far from match ammo in my opinion and not only not with the extra money I don’t think it should even be worth as much as the standard velocity stuff. Every rifle shoots them all different, but the green tag lot I bought a couple bricks of does not shoot as well as any of the standard velocity stuff I’ve ever used.

Yeah, Green Tag never impressed me for the price. CCI Standard is good stuff and not that high. Really, anything CCI makes is good ammo. Aguilla Standard is good stuff. If you can find it, Winchester Dynapoint is a good SV ammo. I use to be able to buy it at K or Wal-Mart 2007 for 8 dollars for 500. Them days are gone though.

Also, if you are truly in the pursuit of accuracy- you need to avoid shooting a supersonic bullet. As the bullet slows and transitions from supersonic to subsonic there is a very negative impact on accuracy.

Trappercass. That is some serious bullseye action. I just had the old marlin bolt action on top of a 2x4. Shooting from a standing position. Too much snow here to haul out all the shooting stuff. That group is with the Remington gold hollow point shells.

So, back in the olden times, before al gore invented the internet, Outdoor life tested about 50 different. 22 lr ammos for accuracy.

The first 2 places went to some ridiculously priced Olympic target ammo. Third place was Winchester super x, plain old, copper plated, round nose.

That's what I've been using ever since, if it can be found.
