I've been up Schweitzer cross country skiing. And when I was part of a band of musicians who were hired to play there on weekends.

The basin is surrounded by national forest that continues up into Canada. You can see about any critter on the trails. There is a sizable condo complex and stores as well as a resort in the hub up there. Pretty cheeky coyotes who don't mind the activity.

Another reason to be armed wherever you go.

Today, there was a bunch of sub-morons posting on a Yahoo news story about a guy being prosecuted for hitting a lemon shark with a hammer. They were very anti-human. Hopefully they follow their beliefs and don't make anymore humans like themselves.
