Wolf put in in a jar and tape to the rocking chair and rock. Or shake it but rocking is easier.

Real butter is fairly expensive. I still use it though.

Flies will eat crap, but they won't touch margarine. That should tell you everything you need to know about margarine. Margarine is one hydrogen bond away from being plastic. It's some of the worst stuff you can put in your body. I went to culinary school for desserts and pastries, used thousands of pounds of butter over the years, margarine isn't allowed in a commercial kitchen that actually cares about its products.

I used a food processor years ago , a blender may work as long as you use a low speed .
I used to get fresh milk all the time , it's not easy to get around here any more.
Some Amish might sell it to you, but noticed they seem to be going more with goats now.
I never washed mine , just pressed out the buttermilk , worked it til it didn't have any milk left.
If I do it again , I'll try washing it , looks a lot faster and easier.
You get real fresh cows milk , leave it sit over night , everything on top is cream, you can see the line between the cream and milk..
Take most of the cream for butter , leave some to make the milk taste better.
Just shake it to get it mixed back in.

So to young yet to own a rocking chair and enjoy it. You will probably buy one once your first child is born. At least I recommend one be on the list anyway. wink

Find an Italian and strap the jar to their hand. Then have a conversation with them. You'll have butter in no time!

When I was a kid and family went to visit my aunt and uncle's or to cousin farm. I recall us kids taking turns shaking a mason jar butter milk on the trip home. We would shake that jar and by time we got home from that 30-40 mile trip. There was maybe a tennis ball size chunk butter in the jar. That was probably 50 years or more ago?
My only experience making butter other than doing the same in grade school. In grade school we walked up the road couple 100 yards to small dairy. We came back from that dairy with a mason jar that got passed around the classroom to be shaken. When the ball of butter was finally made. We all got a taste smeared on a cracker. I'm guessing something like that could never happen in a public school now days. I don't recall any of us kids getting sick from that.
Wife and I still use butter just buy it from store. WI is dairy state so plenty of options here.

We ONLY cook in olive or avocado oil, butter, ghee, tallow or lard.... period.

Start doing some research for yourselves on seed and vegetable oils, you will rethink using them.

Wolfie, I got around to making some butter today. My pictures suck. I basically do exactly what the guy does in the video.

Starting it out in the kitchen aid.

What it looked like after I took it out of the mixing bowl.

Finished product. Yum yum. Quart and a half of cream gave me shy of 1.25 pounds of butter and another approximately 1.5 cups of buttermilk. We will be using the buttermilk for making waffles tomorrow.
