I saw one this morning while checking traps. It was a yearling with two normal does. It was more white than not. I thought it was a goat at first.

The location was within a 1/2 mile of where we had spotted a piebald buck a few years ago. I guess he's been passing on his genes.

Eh...wot?

Neat! I've never seen a piebald deer here but did see a piebald turkey down at the local Boy Scout summer camp along the Missouri River.

I've seen maybe 12-15 over the years within a 15 mile radius of home. Never saw a piebald turkey though, didn't know that was a thing. Cold it have been the result of a wild/domestic turkey pairing?

Eh...wot?

I have seen 3 completely white deer in my years outdoors . About 6 that had a mix of brown /white (piebald) and one that was what I would call blonde . It was not whitelike an albino but is was not brown either .There where two other people with me when we saw it and we all thought it was more of a blonde color And several times I told this story I have been ask " How many beers did you drink before you saw this so called blonde deer ? " Answer is none .and "Did it walk on 2 legs or 4 legs " Answer 4 legs l had no camera so no proof except the two people that where with me. I have included [Linked Image]

1in 267,000 deer carry the gene that allows deer to be born without pigment on all or part of their skin. both parents must carry the gene, so either 2 out of 534,000 hooked up or you have siblings breeding. I shoot every piebald I see on the advice of a biologist who said its a sign of over population

25 years ago, we had a piebald spike and a piebald 6 point around here.
Spiked looked like an antelope.

Opening day, I heard my wife shoot.

What'd you get?
Piebald buck!
Spike or 6 pt.
Neither!

Was a button.
