Not that I've seen. They are rutting now, and I don't know what the moon phase is, been to cloudy to see it. But bobcats usually rut and breed long enough to go through most phases of the moon.

Full moon always meant bobcats.

Noticed last month around the start of the full moon my barn cat(tom) seemed to get a bit frisky. Subsided as the no moon stage. With the full moon coming back on he's getting frisky again. Of course that's a domestic cat and may just be coincidence and the time of the year.

The night's brightness level affects predator movement.

The brighter the night...the less predators move. The darker the night = more movement.

I haven't noticed a correlation between actual moon phase and predator movement.

I am going to say the Length of Daylight has a lot too do with the stimulating of female estrus. Also how healthy or well fed the female is.
End of December when days start getting longer bobcat movement will generally start too increase. Depending on the weather and your location?
The moon? It might have some effect?
The internet, says Dec. - March is peak breeding season.

Any correlation to a female's cycle? See it in fish, bream bedding on a full moon, wonder if it's the same with mammals?

J,
That would be difficult to know 4 sure. Individual females cycle slightly different so it would be just a guess by anyone as to relationship with "in heat" and moon phase.

Based on my notes…I catch less K9’s during the full moon and more cats. New moon more K9’s and less cats. Doesn’t mean you won’t catch either during either cycle, just my experiences and notes. My first double on coyotes came on a full moon.
