In my list for the farm is a 4x4 pulling truck but with prices it's way down the list. My brother in law tells me about his friend selling a truck finally he had been trying to get him to sell for years but he wouldn't. Untill just after he bought himself a truck.
It's an old truck a 96 single wheel f 350 7.3 with the small extended cab and w 216k. I saw video of it running and it runs well. The linkage from transfer case to 4x4 shifter is missing a piece but shifts into 4x4 fine from underneath so should be an easy cheap fix. It needs tires and a battery's other than that. The interior was clean and body looked ok from what I saw in the shaking dark video the body was ok but I didn't see the rust hole in a fender I was told about. Apparently it's my brother inlaws friends dad's truck. The dad paid for his gear head son to put stage 2 injectors and chip it. That part gives me pause I would feel better if it were stock but was told the old guy babies it so much they nick named him safety Dave.

It's about an hour and half drive each way to go look at and with my 80 hr weeks and goofy scedual my brother I'm always can't get together to go look at it. But I'm hopeful we can tomorrow or Sunday night.

Asking price is only 3k so I plan on buying it from what my brother in law told me but want to see it in person first and attempt to talk them down a little it is what I'm told it is. It was not at the top of the list of things to get but I was thinking I would be spending 15k min for similar miles just a little newer in today's market so feel like I should get it while it's there. It should last a long time parked in the barn and only coming out to pull with. The best part is I think I can sell my 91 f 250 2wd w 7.3 to my brother in law in the future for 2k so will only have 1k difference other than the hopefully only few things that need repaired. Then again I could end up with a junk money pit?

Here is one of the poorly lite pictures I got of it..

You had me with wing windows and rain gutters. Great find, I would say.

And why it jumped to the top of the list for things we need for the farm even though it's not needed right now. I figured it sounded like way to good a deal to be true but will jump on it it it's what I was told it is.

If I can get a reliable pulling truck that cheep it sure leavs more $ on the table for other things like stock trailers and fencing. My fingers are crossed it's a good one. But I had planed.to get x$ in savings before spending much money. Do I will be going out of order bit when a good deal shows up I better consider it. I plan on shaping out the tires and driving it home if I do get to go look at it.

Nothing like wing windows to blow the wasp and bees into you while driving nothing like an unexpected sting lol, or even once had a bat hit the wing vent and spin in my open down window and hit me in the head hard and leave a scratch and bruse. I thought it was Large bug untill the next day I got out to get gas and saw the dead bat in the floor between the seat and door.

Looks like a nice truck. I’d get rid of the blue running boards. I’d also turn the toolbox sideways and bolt it down. I have a 96 f150 gas motor but I love it. Easy to work on and I like the idea of the locking hubs.

Buy it! Like everyone else has said, round here it's worth more than 2x that. Your 91 was the 7.3 turbo diesel, yes? If so, you'll like the power stroke a little better. That 96 will have a lot more bed capacity than later models. Our previous farm truck was exactly same, except short cab. It was a perfect farm truck, and likely would still have it had the bell housing not come apart. At 3k, you got room to fix some issues that may arise, and even get out of it and trade up

A good running truck for that price is a very good deal. Not too hard to find junk around here and they want 3000 bucks for it. I’d look it over good though.

Even if it has more issues than you think, at 3,000 you've got a good deal.

Maybe just the picture but looks like it’ll need body mount bushings.

Check the front end over well. Those motors are heavy and it costs alot to replace the front end. I have had several of them and it seems like you have to do major front end repair about every 100-125K

Bullet proof motor and a great truck at a great price. You can expect those 7.3 powerstrokes to go to about 400k miles.

a running truck that your feet don't fall through the floor , load doesn't fall through the rust in the bed and it has cab corners and rockers still

send the man some money before he realizes what it's worth

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

A good motor but it is not the Powerstroke. Slight differences.
