Can you use used cooking oil on traps to oil them and make them scent free?
Its not how you start, its how you finish

I sure wouldn't put that on my traps. Stuff gets all gummy and sticky as it sits.

Nope, but you can convert a diesel motor and run it on used cooking oil to check your traps.

Absolutely not. Used cooking oil is far from scent free.... it has a strong odor critters find appealing and they'll dig up every one of your sets.

Unless you want your traps dug up and empty every time you check em, do not put used cooking oil on them. Or even unused, for that matter.

It works great as a substitution for any place you'd use fish oil.

It would be more of a food source and cause digging. Maybe use it as a chaser with the drinking and sit real close to the Bathroom if not right on the Pot!!!

Strained and used on an electric chain for lubricant to cut ice for through for ice sets. I ran clean new safflower oil in a chain saw to lube chain when cut ice. Gotta make sure you clean it out or mix in some regular bar oil. Even the new safflower oil gunked up the oiler in the saw when it sat for a while. I had an awful time cleaning it out. I used gallons of fryer oil on bear baits and also as a trailing sent around DPs for coon. Mac

A friend burned it in his oil stove to heat his shop. Always smelled like french fries.
