Anyone had a chance to get a sneak peak of the new trap? 9" jaw spread. Was browsing Southern Snares website and I saw where they were coming out soon.

Longspring? They used to have a #5 longspring wolf trap, never used one but I handled one and wasn't impressed.

Dog faced pony soldier and proud of it!

Yeah, I'm with Victor #0. I handled one and wasn't impressed. Steeltraps has the right idea, in my opinion a wallhanger. I can't even begin to set their 4 1/2 over my knee, but their number 5 was really weak springed and seemed much lighter and cheaper and lighter built overall.

Now this was my opinion from looking at one ten or twelve years ago, I haven't looked at or handled one since, so I my be misremembering some details but I know I wasn't impressed with them.

I had 2 of the old long spring #5 wolf traps. They were more of a wall hanger/collector trap. I ditched mine when I found out that they were supposed to be a limited number, and they were supposed to be stamped with that number. Neither of mine were stamped, and the box was also supposed to have the number on it.

Where did you see this on his website? I know he told me the first traps he will manufacture will be the #11's and the #3 longsprings.

Did he happen to say when he would start producing traps?
