I trapped fox and coon many yrs ago. I have 160 acres and a big yote problem. Never trapped yotes as 40 yrs ago not many yote in mich. I know the travel routes of the yotes down my lanes about 12ft wide I am think 2 sets at trail intersections 1 a sign/scent post the other a dirt hole or pipe dream. I have a mix of duke and victor 3 &4 and new duke 650. traps prepped etc I know how to bed traps etc. this is what I have for lure and bait. 1. nicely aged rabbit homemade mix 2. cavens yodel dog 3.cavens viloator 7 and canine force 4. adirondak all call 5. hawbakers glandd lure 100. also fox, yote and bobcat urine. I am thinkiing setting the sign/scent post and using gland lure and urine which lure and urine say you guys for use during mating season? 2nd sets will be the dirt holes/pipe dreams how close should I put them to the scent posts and which bait/lure, urine? I was planning pretty close 10-20ft? also I watched the pipe dream vids as never set that 35 yrs ago could only find aluminum screen for pan cover does the edges of the screen go under the jaws or is just over the pan inside jaws work ok?
thank you for any help for a new old trapper!

If you bought the coyote P at the same place as the bobcat P you ought to pour it all out.

Its probably ok. Just no place I am aware of caging bobcats for P. Thousand gallons plus sold a year but no caged cats? Makes a guy wonder. I do best with a good commercial bait and urine.

Here is a TTT for ya.

Concentrate more on location than trap or scent brand.
Nor have I ever sniffed good bcat pee but I would not toss any of what you mentioned.
You say you know where they travel.
Now find where they loaf or "stall out". Catch them there.
And where they are going and coming from.

Do you have a trapping season over there?

The comfortable area between where they are going and coming from is the spot.
Is what I was trying to say.

sound like you are spot on . use a good backer, and try different bait and lures at each spot ,keep track so you know what works for you

thanks for the advice. I know where they are going and coming from dens are on neighbors but sadly cant trap there they come to my property to do there hunting and I know where they are hunting pretty much got them locked down on routes with month of game cams. I dont know where they loaf. as far as season I farm owner good to go kill at will. I plan sets at the entry and exit points to there hunting grounds and on their entrance routes to my property. thinking trap saturation 18 sets.

Don’t just get in the general area that that they travel ! Put your sets where they put their feet . Blend your sets and don’t over do it when applying lure or loud bait .

You could use blind trail sets and snares.
