I bought about 3 dozen wooden molding planes last year. And have been slowly cleaning them and making then ready to use. Here is a plow plane that I finished refurbishing today. It is Rosewood and box wood, a truly beautiful plane.




It's not in perfect condition but will do the job.

That's pretty cool. I always found the old wooden tools fascinating.

There's been huge number of molding planes and regular planes going through some of the Ohio auctions lately. A few of the collections sold had well over a hundred antique planes in them. Some planes bring pretty good money and look like look works of art from the different materials and amount of care put into designing them.
