Finally got the opportunity to set a few more traps today -- great weather -- neighbor chaufered me around his and another neighbor place with a Kubota and a boat. The blackberries and the willows were to be as expected - don't think I have any permanent damage. Got about 15 beaver sets and a few nute sets out. Just a nice day.

Sounds like a good day. We'll be waiting for the pics, eh?

Not the success rate I was hoping for today -- 2 beaver, 2 coon (gotta love it when they mess up a beaver set) - and only 1 nute. The neighbor has been plinking nutes with the 223 and has been very successful lately so ---- . The problem I had was with the 1 beaver toe and the 3 tripped trapps with nothing in them. Granted not all of the sets were in ideal locations but I thought I could do a little better - maybe I lost my touch. The one beaver scaled at 65 lbs. so that was a bonus. Put out a couple more and even added a coyote set at his request (he has been missing them with the 223) --- all in all another great day. 330 - our water temp must be around 45 degrees -- it doesn't even feel cold when you go past the gloves. Rarely do these ponds even skim over completely with ice.
