Need someone for the 87,000 new IRS agents to harass.
Being in business, I wish they would stick sending out w9's and/or 1099's out to vendors and customers for anyone you did a couple hundred dollars worth of business with.
WHAT A PITA!

WHAT A PITA! I THOUGHT I read a piece a couple days ago that this was called off for this tax year. Businesses doing it here. I won't, but when one that does calls me wanting my ein number to send me a 1099, I give it to them and then file said 1099 in the trash when it arrives. Their business with me is already calculated by the month in my books, what do I need a 1099 for?

To remind you of those BIG bucks you made fixing Granny's Corvette.........the same dollars you planned to NOT include on schedule C because she paid in cash That brings up a question! I do jobs alot for every day people that the bill goes over the threshold...are they required to send me a 1099 like the businesses I do work for on their company vehicles?

I am sure that IRS would tell you YES that revenue must be included on your return. Whether or not the individual must send you & IRS a 1099 is a matter of a dollar threshold which used to be $600.........and may still be. But your accountant can tell you for sure. But, as long as you claim the revenue, you won't be on the hot seat if the other person doesn't send the 1099. That's on them.
