The insert is a good idea. Anodizing can make the stock brittle.
Just design it so that the entire blade/insert assembly can be reversed and stored within the jandle

Just happy to be here.

The 650.......

Excellent!

I used to use one when trimming out of the bucket.

A little spendy but dang well worth the money.

It certainly would fill your needs.

Smart move. Nothing against making your own/saving a buck/ making good use of what you have at hand , etc.

But buying a pre-made item , ups the game without failures out in the field by 50%+ and that has a big value.

What's a method? Heat?

might try to heat with a propane torch -- hot but not melting -- 3-400 degrees. quench with water - I use a towel and just listen for the sizzle. Most of what I am dealing with is 4043 and 6061 alloys. the quench is the key to softening it - I have even bent cast aluminum after welding when I quenched it. Most of what I work with is thin wall aluminum irrigation pipe.

When do you quench...after bend?
