I don't like Cabelas as much as I used to, I do have two of their credit cards though, one for business and a personal.

I typically pay the bills on the same date even though they don't have the same due date, this month the days lined up right and I ended up being late on the business card payment. I called and requested to change the due date in the future to the same as the other card to avoid this issue again, the lady on the phone was very kind and helpful doing this. I then asked if she could possibly help me out on the late fee I had acquired by paying late, she was not only happy to wave the late fee but the interest as well! Over $100 saved on a mistake that was my fault.

I've talked bad about Cabelas lately but I'll give props to that level of customer service with the credit cards. We have been debating on swapping Credit Cards but I think I'll just stay with Cabelas after this.

Its not Cabela's that did you this favor it was the bank. My bass Pro card is capital one.

Yes, it's Capital One/Mastercard. Cabelas used to have their own card reps though I believe, perhaps they still do?

they can see when you give them a bunch of business they make money on your every transaction , they stand to make more on your future transactions than they do on that late fee.

you had good stats and it it helped you

I have had a personal cabelas for probably 20 years and the cabelas business a few, I just got the benelli montefeltro ($1600) a few months ago and it didn’t cost me a dime. I’m sure there’s better CC deals but I love the points. Going for a browning citori next

I've been happy with Cabela's card, I use for business also. I use the bucks to buy chest waders every 2 years. They are good at notifying you on suspicious activity.

I had a bass pro card when I was 18 to build my credit. Dad showed me an artical in businesswomen or forms about them sending the bills out after the due date to get the late fees. Being young that was not something I would have been paying attention to. I also blew it off. Untill I made some purchases at a gun show that put me $10 below my limit . Then my next bill showed late fees that put me over my limit and that incurred over the limit fees as well. I checked and the bill was post marked after the due date.

I called them and they confirm the charged are correct then I asked how I can get late fees when they don't send the bill out untill 3 days after the bill is due. The lady tried to play off like it's never happend before and she would do me a favor to always the fees.

I asked Her how lonely she worked there becuse if she was not new she must be ok with being a liar . I pulled the now 4 moth old magazine out to quite her the artical about her band doing just that on a regular basis and asked her how long did she think it took to get enough attention to get it's on magazine article written about it? She had no more excuses I asked for the pay off and if I could pay it over the phone. I paid it off and cut the card in pieces. That was over 20byeaes ago and they use a different bank now but I only use a credit union for my cards where I can walk in and do business in person from that point on.

I always had a great experience with cabelas card as well. Ever since they removed ammo from their 10% days I haven’t placed nearly the orders I once did. A few months ago I was checking out at scheels and the lady said they would transfer the black card status over to the scheels visa if I was interested in filling out the application. Scheels does 1.5% on everything and 5% scheels as opposed to 5% at cabelas/2% at cenex/1% on everything else. Our local cenex station has also recently closed its doors, so that played a partial role in the switch as well as fuel is one of my bigger purchases.

The best part about your points being to the outdoor store is your wife can’t even give you a dirty look for using them on guns and ammo!

A man feels like a real hero when we walk out out of cabelas with a free gun! I have gotten a few free guns from them over the years and it feels good lol.

Boy ain't that the truth and like Trappercass said the wife can't even witch about it. My new gun is so nice my buddy can't believe I even took it on our annual pheasant hunt. I said it was FREE but even if I paid for it I didn't get it to look at sitting in my gun cabinet?

I have almost 2k in points saved up, thinking about heading down there tomorrow and seeing if I can find something I have to have.

The Buisness card is 2% on everything. I was going to switch to Scheels but they weren't as high a % back.
