I just read where a GA deer hunter was attacked by 3 wild dogs while attempting to relocate his deer stand He was taken to a hospital by someone he was able to flag down and had several hundred bites

He will only go back with friends and a baton and we'll as his guns. All he needed was a handgun the first time and he would have been able to handle it.

Some never get it figured out.

That right there is the main reason I carry most time. Figure way better chance getting grabbed by someones mutts. Then wolves,bear, or random wildman at Walmart.

I trapped In the south and had more then one run In with free roaming pets that tried to eat me.

Free roaming and pets just don’t go together. They’re either pets and taken care of, or they are feral and don’t live long.

He should shot them that why you keep you on you.

The people that owned those dogs, wouldn't own anything after I drug them through the courts. I hate to say that, but I would go after them hard.

Heck with no gun, the guy didn't even have a knife. What kind of man doesn't have a knife on him.

Of course he should've had a gun but this joker went out into the world totally defenseless.

I promise you that I'm never defenseless. I may not win but I will hurt you bad in the process.

On the flip side, if anyone makes it past the no trespassing signs and beware of the dogs sign I have all around my property, they are fair game in my book . But my dogs and I stay on my property. I have had a few folks try to hunt on my property without so much as ask for permission. Word has gotten around that its not a good idea and the last couple of years folks have stayed clear of my place.

Good on ya! Word of mouth does wonders for gaining access AND detouring access, lol. Put the fear of God or the Devil in folks mind and they think real hard about doing things they know they shouldn’t be doing anyways.

actually had 2 neighbors whos dogs were attacked by other dogs with in a few blocks distance several years apart but it happens a lot more often than you hear about almost never makes news.

my dogs are fenced in it gives us a barrier and I seldom see that pit , but it is always something on my mind when exiting the fenced area.

for god sakes man your hunting where is your gun and your knife.

and yet many dog owners will have a fit when their little darlings are on an others property and end up being "taken care of".

This is why I'm of the mind that any free roaming dog not on owners property is fair game.
You can't control the dog you must accept the results of that lack of control on your part.

Its also lack of respect to your neighbors. They have the right to not have your dogs on their property.

They'll pack up and roam quit often when they're turned out and run loose unsupervised.
