I just about puked what I read in the local news today (Second paragraph). All of this green bull -is getting out of hand. It’s going to put us back into the Stone Age. People today have no recollection or concept of the achievements that built this nation. Most today are spoiled brats and take our push button society for granted. I firmly believe everyone should have their electricity and heat shut off for at least one month in the dead of winter. Then for once they may finally grasp that modern conveniences are necessary for survival, regardless of where they come from. I needed to rant.

Democrats Jerry Newton of Coon Rapids and Heather Edelson of Edina have authored the bill that would prohibit the sale of non-electric powered lawn and garden equipment starting on January 1st, 2025. That includes lawnmowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chainsaws, lawn edgers, string trimmers, and brush cutters.

If they really wanted to go green they’d get rid of mowers and weed eaters and all that stuff altogether and plant meadows where the lawns are and let everything go back to nature the way it was before man tried to make nature clean and “pretty”. Lawns are an ecological disaster.

Unfortunately we're at fault, people that are voting our freedom away should be d-------ed,but as sure as we say this we're demonized by our own.

One of my own personal conundrums is I think if we stopped all the mowing, fertilizing, herbicide and pesticide treatments of lawns and went to a more natural landscape our world would be a better place.
However as stupid as a lot of man is I still believe in ones right to choose.

Unfortunately most people use that freedom selfishly so they make choices that are self indulgent rather than what would be better for all.

Don't like these laws that force one choice over others even tho I may somewhat agree with the end result.

A gallon of gasoline in a modern lawn mower does a lot of work for such a small amount of exhaust. Those Congressmen and women have probably never cut an acre of grass, cut down a tree, or run a log splitter.

They should be required to walk behind a pair of mules pulling a turning plow, then do the same on a Diesel tractor, before they vote on fuel issues.

Charles, for a change I agree with you.

I can only think of two good reasons to mow grass. To use it for feed, and for fire safety. Maybe three, mulch in the garden or garden prep.

They have illegals to do that kind of stuff for them.

California North the extremists. I just hope in the future know one sells them power. MN doesn't want any of the pipelines or electrical generation or nuclear produced energy in their state, but they want all the luxury of life. Build that wall if they want to be that independent. Sad deal.

Would that mean no outboard motors for fishing boats too?

Really looking forward to an electric alternative to my MS661 laugh .... the idiots that propose these nut job ideas clearly have never cut a tree down or made a winters worth of firewood or mowed a lawn etc. People that far removed from reality should not qualify for making those kind of decisions.

So buy a gas generator and 500’ of power cord to power the lawnmower? Or maybe a generator that runs on electricity. : )

There's big money behind this somewhere. But real intelligent people (like on here) know it won't work in a large capacity. Maybe not even medium. The people making these proposals have to be lining their bank accounts.

In a little over a century, the prosperity of this nation has produced a switcharoo. From 85% rural to now 85% urban. From manufacturing and farming as major industries to now technology and service industries. Quite a switcharoo in which people live and work and gather personal knowledge.

So we have lots of folks YouTubing what the real outdoor activities looks like. Riding along for the adventure sorta stuff. Or playing a virtual game to simulate the "outdoors."

Me and mine, we walk outside, fill up the UTV, pontoon, dually and more with precious fossil fuel and roll into the actual out-of-doors.
All we can do is take a few folks along with us from time to time who've never seen what we see and help teach them what they do not know.
I like to teach so I take folks along and show them the wonder and bounty of God's nature and I've had many people tell me they had "no idea" all we do as trappers, fishermen and women, and 1000 other outdoor activities. I tell 'em that living as we do, in communities with comfy housing with Wifi capacities isn't the same as getting out in nature and swatting real mosquitoes!

Blessings,
Mark

I own all sorts of battery powered convenience lawn and garden tools, but when it gets serious the gas powered stuff comes out of the garage. This nonsense has to stop. These fools need to move to California where they belong. I'm currently on a 5 year plan to leave this ridiculous state, but if they keep this up I'm leaving sooner.
