I'm looking at a Remington 1911 R1 and Kimber 1911's trying to stay under 700

We don't need more houses.
I've lost too much trapping land to new housing developments.

you want it to be standard GI or are you looking for something with beaver tail and adjustable sights?

probably the lowest price 1911 made in the the US
https://www.budsgunshop.com/product...+mil-spec+.45+acp+5+black+parkerized+7+1

the cheapest kimber I could find

Remington is out of business Rem arms doesn't appear to make the 1911 that Remington did

If I was going to go non US manufacture on a 1911 I would Go Rock Island Armory they make them in the Philippines and make some nice stuff , they have a Nevada service department and handle warranty work in a timely manner.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I'm not a pistoler, but a relative bought a Rock Armory 1911 about 10 years ago for about the amount shown.I've shot it numerous times and I'm surprised at the quality for the price.I've been thinking about a 1911 myself, and am thinking really hard on a Rock Island.

I did have an issue with a cheap M200 revolver from RIA , called them up they sent a pickup tag for it and they sent me a new one back.

The Turkish tisas 191 has pretty good online reviews and the 1911a1 model I handled looked to be a legit clone of the ones I shot in the service.

I stand corrected if you go to their page the show them https://www.remarms.com/handguns/model-1911-r1/

I had searched rem arms and it had come up shotguns and riles and no mention of pistols

they were out out of stock everywhere I looked so I assumed and I shouldn't have

Currently Remington is only manufacturing 700's and 870's.

If they are selling pistols it's either leftovers from the bankruptcy sale or buying from another manufacturer and reselling.

Go over budget a bit and the options open up a lot! I would look at the sig lineup

If wanting to hold strong with the 700 Springfield armory would get my vote though

You will hear that the Kimbers have reliability issues, in my experience with them if they have been properly cleaned and lubed, 95% of the time the functioning issues can be solved with a simple modification to the magazine, take the factory one out and replace it with a Wilson Combat magazine and almost always the functioning issues go away the Kimber mags have done a lot of damage to their reputation

Best mags are the checkmate 7rd hybrid lips, imo. Anything that strays to far from JMB original controlled round feed is an answer to a question not asked.

i just purchased a Springfield 1911 Garrison for 719.00, at that price you going to have a hard time finding a better 1911. It has a good trigger, adjustable sights and although I have only fired 70 rounds so far it is very accurate with no problems.
