Excess, too large percentage of missfires or expired shelf life. I don't recall what it was, perhaps the guns were phased out at that time. If I recall correctly it was in the 70's or 80's when I destroyed all those rounds of 22 hornet and 410. That didn't bother me as bad as when I destroyed around a million rounds of 22lr. Nothing wrong with them, other than they didn't produce enough gas to cycle the modified M16s.

I have a box of Hornets in my collection. Very cool box! ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/02/full-2100-168980-yo7psu0.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/02/full-2100-168981-gjm0tuf.jpg)

I have an M6 Scout made by Springfield Armory , mine is 22/410 ga. Virtually identical to the air force issued survival rifle .. Except for the barrel length right?

I have a couple of boxes of the 22 hornet and one of the 410s, those rifles I believe were also destroyed and had 14 inch barrels I believe 160 posted a photo of a box of the 22 hornet I bought mine at a gun show back in the late 80 the guy had stacks of them on his table for cheap so I bought a good bit and shoot it up, the only reason I still have some is it fell down behind a work bench and I didn’t find it for a good long while
