I understand this isn’t the preferred choice of music with the blue hairs that are happy within there bubble and hang on this sight but if you will let me drag you into today’s impactful music, the music that the kids listen too. I appreciate the grace. I’m a fan of classic rock, metal, blues, Motown, gospel and old country and even some new select new country music but I find that music lacking meaning for the most part and is only filler to me.
To give context to this video you’d have to go down the NF rabbit hole but understanding that probably isn’t going to happen I’ll summarize, NF’s previous work has been dealing with his past experiences and how that has impacted his paradigm and the struggles that come with it. In all previous music videos he has appeared in black, the music video (Hope) which just dropped NF is in white. He’s has in last 4 or 5 albums has been laying the ground work for this new endeavor, I find the young man to be genius in his plan to bring us “Hope”. Btw, I’m not a blue hair but I’m definitely a grey hair.

The problem for this person with brown generously sprinkled with gray hair is that I can only understand about 25% of what he's speaking. Maybe subtitles on his "work" would help.

I guess I just don't feel the song the way you do. What I gather is he had a crappy dad and is promising his son to be a better dad, which is cool. Cool, but not phenomenal. I guess most parents who had crappy parents want to do better by their children. Are we to the point that a young person who wants to do right is worthy of celebration? If we are we're even more screwed than I thought we were. When did celebrating common decency become a thing?

I suppose my awe of the young man is that he’s been laying this ground work for years, he’s had a plan. (One may need to know his previous work to see this)
Yep, within our broken society lots of young folks and older have had similar experiences with crappy parent(s) and can relate, now that may not be your experience (nor mine) but if you can get outside yourself perhaps you can see this music as “Hope” for those who have had similar experiences. He has overcome the trauma of his past and I believe that’s the message his try to deliver… or he could leave these traumatized kids to the hoe’s drugs and gangster songs.

Maybe this song he has penned might help into where he’s coming from or maybe I’m just wrong.

Here he is talking with his younger self.

I'm grey bearded not blue. I don't live in any type of bubble but your right not my type of music. And yes I listened to it all. It seems to irritate my ears and I can't for the life of me understand what his message is without reading it.
If this is for you, great! Listen away and enjoy. But just like the Jehovah witnesses at my door. I respectfully decline.

Most of the younger Slavic (Russian/Ukrainian) guys who I know like this stuff. Not exactly my favorite genera, but at least it seems to be introspective music. That is much better than a lot of other "music" that's out there today.

Grumley i don’t know how to share the YouTube videos but my favorite NF song is from his first album mansion called “I’ll keep on”. I think a lot of folks could appreciate that one.

I don’t like all if his songs but have a few from most if his albums on my workout playlist. I can appreciate his creativity, and the fact that he hasn’t compromised his faith for songs about drugs, crime, and womanizing etc.

Not my type of music, but if younger people like it better than gangsta rap and such trash, then its a good thing.

Google Blaze Foley. He plowed that same ground decades ago. Especially in the song Clay Pigeons.
