Pythons are snacking on GPS-wearing opossums that give up their locations.
Researches are putting GPS collars On grinners and coons so they can track down the snakes and kill them.

Once held a 14 footer along with 2 other men. We had trouble handling it. Too powerful. If one got ahold of you. Best bet would to start slicing and dicing to loosen the grip if you thought to carry a knife up high and tight like we carried in the service. Sarge

Sarge The secret tip to get a large snake to release its grip on a victim is alcohol. Get some hand sanitizer or raw alcohol in the snakes face. They hate it , will release instantly. Using a knife will work but ya really have to hack the snake up or cut its head off. Alcohol is much faster.

Sarge A friend of mine served time as a paratrooper there. He told me it really , really gets dark in the deep jungle. He said you never understood dark until ya experienced that.

Exactly, everything we had had cateyes and 550 cord attach. Triple canopy is no jock. Beutiful country, but, dangerous and deadly. At the time i was attach to a light Infantry unit teaching land nav. Learn to land nav in panama. Nothing else compares to south and central america. Sarge

Vietnam jungles were the same way. Especially during the monsoon. So dark you could not see your hand in front of your face. When sitting watch at night, one placed their knife in front of you so you could stay orientated. The half dozen of us were setup like the spoke's in a wagon wheel. Roy
