''The rare wildcat'', Yes in the same sense that alligators are rare in Virginia.

Can they trap them over the border? I mean directly over the border?

Can't speak for Minn. but back when we were in the thick of the battle here in Maine, in other words before We surrendered to the antis, the area just over the border had one of the highest quotas if not the highest quota in the province.

I can literally look north out my door across Hwy 53 and into the defined lynx zone; one side will now have extreme restrictions and the other hopefully not near as much, if we defeat these new anti-trapping state proposals. Minnesotans write your legislators!

The same is true with the wolves too! Best area to trap in Ontario and Manitoba is along the border. The biggest population!

Six inches north of the monument wolves and lynx are fair game, six inches south they are protected better than the unborn.

Just the influence of the death of a thousand cuts that’s the game that’s being played today it has little to do with any real issues that they claim, just look at the wolf interference and all the influences that get in the way of realistic management programs.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but don't they understand there just creating an environment for more predators? Wich in turn will negatively efect the welfare of the lynx! Man what has happened to follow the science? I guess it doesn't count when it comes to emotions vs common sense!

You can rest assured, this state is done with trapping. There is no hope with the people in power now. They are running bills through the legislature that defy the constitution on a daily basis. You cannot beat the people who count the votes.

Just like Gray wolves, this is a complete misuse of the endangered species act. The species as a whole is not endangered, but thriving. Just because it's not "abundant" in Minnesota doesnt mean the species is nearing extinction. Its another decision by a federal judge that doesnt have a clue about wildlife.

Every tool given can be used as a weapon down the road.

They don't care boco. They don't care about lynx, it's about limiting trapping

The state is fast losing all legitimate authority that it may have had.

And also incidental animals like dogs.
There you have the real deal. A bunch of local and city people who wanna be up in that country and let Fido run free.
Be that as it may I cry every time I drive by a conservation officers home up there and see the piles of dead incidentally caught lynx laying around.

If you want to up lynx numbers, start whacking raptors. They play heck on kittens, so will fisher given the chance.

They protect the wolves and lynx yet wonder why the moose population continues to decline. This just gets dumber by the day.

I have nothing clever to put here.

ya lots of people making decisions that have no clue what they are doing. The dog thing is always an issue whether its on private land or public land-if a dog gets caught regardless if the owner was breaking the law by letting them run free or on private land-the trapper is always the bad guy. How come just over the border marker there are lots of Lynx still around. Ya gotta love the government. Like anything it's always to appease the masses that live in their own civilized worlds.
