Seems that I remember an old thread about using nafta as a degreaser. My question is, after the pickle and a 24 hour soak in nafta and evaporate time does the skin need to be neutralized before tanning?

I would only use naphtha outdoors and only for really greasy skins.
Most skins can be degreased by scraping and washing with soap.
I de grease before the pickle most times. If you have a particularly greasy skin you can further de grease it after the pickle and neutralizing, and before tanning.

Thanks, Boco I have been using a commercial degreaser that I am happy with. Don't know why, but always seem to want to try something different.
