My cousin was one of those hippies that mentored under Chuck Smith in the early 70's. My cousin just retired as a long time pastor at a Calvary Chapel Church.
Those were some interesting and also good times to remember.

For me it was ok. Alot of of the ideas and points I have seen or experienced. It had its mountains and valleys. It also pointed out some of our failures and hypocrasies we struggle with.

Chuck Smith was a faithful man of God. I enjoyed listening to him. The word for today!

I just got back from watching the movie, it was very reminiscent. The band "Love Song" brought back a lot of memories, I remember as a teenager seeing Chuck Gerard and Love Song sing in a local park. My older brother was a hippie and part of the movement, and like I mentioned earlier, my cousin was a hippie who became a believer and mentored under Chuck Smith and became a great pastor and preacher until his semi retirement just this past year.

I wonder a bit if there is any significance to this movie coming out right now? A big difference I see in our culture now versus then, is, back then people were seeking meaning to life other than through materialism. They looked for meaning through drugs, religion, gurus, and faith in Jesus Christ. Today, I don't really think people are seeking anything except materialism and hedonism; even many people who call themselves "Christian" fall into this.

However, I do think, that in general, people are just as desperate today as they were back during the Jesus Revolution. I just wonder if something is going to happen that triggers people to truly seek God. Things seem to be getting pretty crazy; or is that just me who thinks that.
