I'm going to get a ten footer, what do you prefer, sit in or sit on top? I have zero kayak experience, I will only be fishing ponds and very small lakes.

If you do any fly fishing, I prefer the sit on top. I also like it for pike fishing as it gets me up a little higher and I can see down into the water a little farther out. If you're scared about stability, sit in type is better. But sit on top is VERY stable with today's fishing kayaks. Try a few, then decide. I like the Titan.

Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

Whatever you get, make sure it has a galley with a propane stove so you can make a coffee on the cold days and a decent size fridge to keep the drinks cold fin the summer

Sit on top. Look at the perception kayaks. That's what I have. Even good just for recreational use.

No, not in my Titan any way. I mean you're gonna get wet when fishing on a boat. But on my Titan, I don't get any more wet than fishing from shore or a boat. Perfectly dry? No.

Sit on top. I have a vibe skip jack. Love it. Very stable. Upgraded the seat. 4-6 hours with out too much discomfort.

Might get some drippage from the paddles on your legs. Legs ate likely already wet from getting into the yak anyways.
