Hey guys I’m new here and new to trapping as well, did a little as a kid and was obsessed, now I’m an adult and getting back into it. Caught 7 beaver this season but despite numerous attempts I’ve been unsuccessful at catching predators. Anyway, I bought half a dozen Bridger #4 DLS from Murray’s that I want to modify for bobcat sets as they’re everywhere in my area. I also got base plate/center swivel kits, 30ft of number 3 machine chain, jc Connor shock bars and grapples for all six. I plan on laminating the jaws with 3/16 round stock as well. Would these mods suffice or is there anything I missed?

Honestly, no mods are needed!

I’m not sure any mods are absolutely necessary but I made the pans bigger on four of the six I have. I’ll probably mod the other two but haven’t got around to it yet.

The mods are your call. Cats don't fight a trap like a coyote will... But if you have coyotes in your area you should probably expect to pick up a few as incidentals at some point.

The chain and an extra swivel or two are never a bad idea.

Adding laminations will slow the trap and is not needed on longs. Good luck.
