I’d say 350-500 dollars right now. Now that could go up in price as time goes on!😁

I remember seeing them in a basket at a department store here called Roses for $89. Bought one and should’ve left everything on it.
Never messed with it as far as modifying it, but it shoots three round burst from time to time. Killed both deer and hogs with it. Just aim low cause the muzzle rises a little, lol.

I would say retail would be around the $700 mark.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Yeah, early 90s yo could buy those for 90 bucks. And buy surplus Russian ammo in those big spam cans for 5 cents a round. I'd say cheap ammo for SKS and AKs are gone now.

Its looks like a add on mag just take off the 10 round one and that one snaps on pivots and clips onto the old release lever. The other version that has a removeable mag they called the Mac90 I believe.

Used to be a $100 gun all day long but in Biden’s economy it is worth probably $1k now.

Lots of varieties of SKS models pinned barrels, threaded barrels, stamped parts vs machined parts. The Russians gave out the blue prints to other communist countries to build their own how they saw fit to do it. That’s why a Chinese Norinco stamped type is way less then the Russian machined models.

this was true of stamped AKs vs Milled AKs

the SKS chineese type 56 was the most common and was milled and what most of the imported Norinco rifles were built on.
the cheap 1990s imports

the type 63 was the stamped and it took AK mags so while it was cheaper to manufacture it was much more sought after

the 63 , 68, 73, 81 and 84 all took AK mags type 81 &84 were burst or auto capable and not imported

the Yugo M59/66 added a grenade launcher , adjustable gas block and sights , also on some night sights.

this COM block stuff is 1000x more complicated in all the many variants and what made a variant and what fits what than ARs are
we have a few guys at our club that build AKs so I get a little of the AK culture talking with them and my son wants to build some now

the MAK-90 was the thumb hole stock Chinese AK new production 92-94ish I might be off by a year or two but it was a narrow window between ban bills mine was a early 94 import

I had one I bought from a friend , gave him 150 dollars for it when he had a ticket to pay in college, I traded it for an AR 20 years later because it was meh for accuracy (most accurate of the AKs I was told so it was more likely the junk ammo and crap sights ) and the sights were blocky. now those are worth 900 mine was in very nice shape with 6 mags and it was hardly shot. but I just didn't use it.

I traded my 1954 Russian machined SKS for a custom built computer to handle my game cam photos the gun cost me $125 I never fired it I had a Norinco I put a lot of ammo through that cost $90 at that time also.

I was shooting a cool AK this weekend a club member brought it out to play 5.45x39 AKS-74U this was hte AK-74 designed for downed pilots

http://www.military-today.com/firearms/aks_74u.htm

complete with the red bake-o-lite magazine

you may recognize it as the little AK Osama Bin Ladin had in many of his photos of course the Afghans would pair the RPK-74 light machine gun 45 round magazine with the AKS-74U sbr side folder for little with lots of ammo

and yes the club member who owns it has it registered as an SBR it stated life as a parts kit and he filed a form 1 to build it
