Does anyone have experience with Halseth's Bobcat Matrix Musk Lure? I am looking for a late season cat lure that works well when the lynx transition to the breeding season. We tend to experience a lot of lynx that just walk by our more traditional sets when the breeding season starts. I am looking for something that will appeal to what is on their mind at that time of the season.

Sorry I have never used the Lure you are asking about. You are correct Cat smells/lures are very attractive during breeding season. Gland Lures are at their peak during the rut! If you are pressed for time and have all ready harvested some lynx? You could use the feet, urine, scat, anal glands at your lynx trap sets. Make it smell catty! Also use plenty of SNARES on those shy ones!

An old lynx lure formula that has worked very well for me is made by rotting lynx livers in a jar all summer. Then take a pint of this rotted liver and add six drops of aniseed, six drops of Valerian, a small bit of powdered catnip and six drops of lynx urine. Throw in about five tablespoons of powdered lynx droppings and one finely chopped beaver castor and mix well.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

Thanks for the replies. I have only done a little with pee post sets in the past. I plan to add in more next season. Our season is over, but I still have a few carcasses hanging on the shed. I will cut the livers out and try the suggestion. Does anyone have a gland lure suggestion that they find works well?
