Does it make a difference who zeros the rifle? I have a Mossberg 22 Mag. I zeroed it, but when my wife shot it, it still shot a nice group, but not the same area I shot my group. I shoot left handed. She shoots right handed. Would that make a difference? yes it absolutely can your heads are different heights off the stock and you hold the gun differently. it is probably close as in near the target but not quite the same spot. optic or irons ? Optics. An old B&L that you adjust on the mounts.
With the US so divided, I'm just glad to be on the side that believes in God, has the most guns, and knows which restroom to use.

I have both a Winchester 22lr, and a Savage 17. I enjoy shooting the small diameter bullets.
I never owned a ,22 mag. But after having the .17 HMR, its nice shooting. Close to .22 mag,

Marlin 883 (I think). Have had it for about 33 years. LOTS of critters have fallen to it. It's purdy much in my truck 365. It likes the heavies. Winchester 40 gainers are what we both prefer.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Optics. An old B&L that you adjust on the mounts. probably a function of parallax if you put up 6 dime size dots on a paper and each shoot a group rested and switch how far off at 25 yards are you each on your 3 groups and are you the same each time is she always right and you are always center on the dot? does she make sure she has a clear picture edge to edge ? do you ?

22 mag is an absolutely deadly round. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot anything in North America with it, with the right ammo. For whatever reason it far outperforms its ballistic numbers on game. I own four rifles and three pistols chambered in it. The Remington semiauto is deadly accurate but not reliable, if you load any of the three clips I have for it and fire them immediately it almost always functions, but if you load the clip and let it set it will jam quite frequently. I have a Magnum Research semi that is reliable and a really nice comfortable gun, but it will only group about 1 1/2 inches at 100 yards. Have an old Winchester pump that I really like, but the gun I use all the time is my pack rifle, a Rossi Circuit Judge nine shot revolver rifle that is swappable cylinders between 22lr and 22 mag. I modified it so the stock pulls off and makes it a takedown to fit in my pack.
In a pistol 22 mag was notorious for not functioning reliably in semiautos, but mine are all revolvers. Make sure and wear hearing protection when using a 22 mag pistol, it is an earbuster of a caliber in a pistol.
Always preferred CCI 40 grainers myself, both hollowpoints and full metal jackets are very good, accurate, reliable, and function well on game. I've used other brands at times, but CCI is my goto.

Been using 22 Mag far longer than I can remember! Have several in both long arm and pistol. Always have one in the pickup. Roy
