Looking for some pictures and advice from anyone that regularly catches beaver in PA. I'd like to get out after some but would love seeing everyone's sets/success. In my area I'm limited to 2 conibears out at a time some foothold are just about a must. Obviously we have the rules against setting within 15ft of a den or dam as well...

Thanks in advance.

Do they allow you to use snares, if so consider them

They do. I believe ten of your sets can be snares in my area?

I trap a good amount of beaver here in pa ...footholds are king what I like to do is go into a place or 2 set it up 330 on pinchpoints snares on pullouts an castor mound an Food sets with footholds so each spot will have a 330 on the best place given a few snares an a few footholds depending on the catch 2 3 day check move on to the next colony

Best sets with footholds are active trails if there is deep enough water to drown. If water not deep enough at trails find deep water spots & make very visible fresh bait set or castor mound set.
If limited to amount of 330's save those for channels and runs

I'm located in Central PA CountryCletus. What's everyone's go-to coilspring with the size restrictions here in PA?

I'm not sure I'm familiar with "food sets."

DAK Hi. I personally use #4 double long springs for my beaver trapping.
With footholds you always want to use a drowning slide wire system in at least 4 feet of water.
Food sets are bait sets. Any smooth barked trees or bushes are what you use for bait. Peel the bark off a few pieces to show the visible wood underneath. Put these peeled sticks up on the bank a foot or two & trap in front in the water.
330's can also be used in front of bait or trails but are perfect for underwater channels or runs.
Good luck

Blue be setting where they are coming out of the water to get fresh twigs or blind set there castor mounds they are putting on the boundaries of their colony. Also runs with 330s work well. Castor mounds are another good set but most trapper go into a location and throw down castor mounds and if your getting to the location after they have trapped it you’ll have your hands full with trying to get the wise ones using castor lures. Food lures or bait sticks work well on them beavers. Or like said before blind sets.

I been using sleepy coils offset #3 very few missed beaver. I do target front foot catches since I was young had places that I couldn't drown them by the back foot but still set some longsprings
