It just looks silly; the US acting indignant when one of our drones is forced down in the middle of what amounts to a war zone. That is to be expected if we mess around like that.

and the report from US says the Russians dumped fuel on the drone and mentioned the harm to the environment. We are up a creek.

NATO has been running survielance around the clock for the last year since this mess started. C 130 Orion aircraft, (maybe Navy Hawkeyes too) with all kinds of radar looking deep into Ukraine and (Russia probably). You can see them on Air Nav web site;. I guess they're doing this as an early warning system for the Ukies. Nato planes making endless loops all around that area. Makes sense they've got drones there doing the same thing.

Looks to me like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you let one of those Roosky jet fighters get close enough to hit the prop of your drone and then you hit the big red self destruct button. That'd bring them both down but then no lives lost on out part. Might teach them a lesson.

I'm surprised that the western corporate media didn't talk about the mock B-52 stand-off run that happened over the Baltic last week or so when a single BUFF came straight down the Baltic and then did a 90 degree turn after stand-off range in front of St. Petersburg and headed into Estonian and Latvian airspace. I wonder how many "eyes" were on that thing...?

So assuming it was for surveillance, what are we surveilling there, exactly? I mean, shouldn't we be using most of our surveillance drones to monitor the wide open Mexican border for insurgents, terrorists, and cartels? Aren't they the more immediate danger? I'm okay with using our drones to surveil Russia IF the military feels Russia is an eminent threat to the US mainland.

That's the rub here.....no one is threatening Russian sovereign borders or country. There are no foreign troops in Russia or intended for Russia, HOWEVER, Russian troops are invading a neighboring country. Why are Russian troops in Ukraine ? Why has Russia started a war ? Why is Russia so aggressive to force their oppression on another sovereign country ?

Hope the tires on your planes landing gear are in better shape than your land based vehicles. We all remember the Russian military convoy running out of fuel, sitting on flat tires trying to make it to Kiev. I would be embarassed. The fuel dumped was probably sour vodka.

TraderVic- You obviously know nothing of the events of 2014-- a Barry Obama admin run coup to overthrow the then current elected President of Ukraine and the subsequent repression and outright war against the ethnic Russians or Russian speaking Ukrainians in the Donbas by the new Kiev government. That is when this current war started, not in 2022 but in 2014.

Remember when Trump had to beg and borrow 4 billion from the DoD budget to help start building the southern border wall?
