Some worry eating a carnivore diet you will have deficiencies and that's simply not true. Meat does have small amounts of vitamin C and all liver and organ meat is full of it.

We were led to believe we would get scurvy if we dont eat fruit and that's total nonsense we don't need fruit at all. The people that used to get scurvy are the minors and sailors that tried to subsist off carbs (rice and beans)

You realize the average life expectancy back then was mid 40s, right?

Eating a carnivore style diet, consisting of primarily meats and fats, put me in the hospital after 2.5 months. It was directly from lack of fiber. Yukon254 says don't worry about fiber, but if you're eating a carnivore diet you absolutely do need to worry about fiber, and take a daily fiber supplement if you're not eating leafy green veggies.

If someone wants to eliminate carbs and eat mostly meats and fats, go for it, but make sure you're getting fiber in some manner.

Yes and you realize the low death age was not from eating a poor diet .It was from no medicine or medical treatment. Childbirth, hunting accidents, falling through the ice, getting eaten by a bear, starvation, diseases, etc.. etc.... just like we had in the early days too.

As mentioned you need to eat fat with your meat. Not fiber. You would be better off taking a table spoon of live oil every day, and should anyhow its good for your heart and lubrication.

Oh I ate animal fat. Lard is the only grease I use for the most part. Plenty of sausage, cheapest greasiest hamburger, etc.

Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

There are plenty of leafy and other vegetables which do not contain carbohydrates which will provide all of the fiber that one requires.
I am sure that early man consumed them as well in addition to their carnivore menu.

That is true. But one must remember, there are no green leafy vegies in the winter. And here winter/ nothing growing from October until May, is eight months. Proving vegies are not needed. I do prefer eating some vegies, but I have no problem eating carnivore meals for extended periods.

If you are able to walk, how far do you walk daily?

You may not feel that way if you lived in rural AK. Everything is very expensive year round, if you can even get it.

I bought and read the Roger Raglin book also. It has helped me a great deal. Give up carbs, sugar, dairy and beer. Have felt really good over the last 3 weeks and i am losing weight. Don't hurt all over like i used to and i had a skin irritation problem on my lower right leg that is almost completely gone away now. It's amazing what eating healthy food will do for you

I started a carnivore diet on Feb. 6, as of today I've lost 29 lbs. I did have to find a zero carb electrolyte powder to add to water. I have had no issues other than that.

I am in the same boat. I was on 100 mg of metformen and considered pre-diabetic. Went low carb, High protein and fat about 14 months ago. Have been off metformen for 12 months and A1C is 5.3, blood sugar is 104, and triglycerides are 88 and before the change, they were 227. Down 87 pounds and feel amazing. Best thing I have ever done for myself. No meds and feeling great. Its a lifestyle change forever to me. If you flip back all the weight comes back as well as the crappy blood sugar and diabetes.

Life is short, tomorrow is promised to none of us. Make the best of every day you have

Awesome post! So many stories like yours and I love to hear them. In 10 years low to zero carb will be mainstream for a whole host of ailments including cancer.

My wife watches this young lady and her experience is absolutely amazing.

Good points. I was addressing someone's concern about not having enough fiber in her diet. Maybe a strict carnivore diet won't work for her particular physiological needs. I now that I do just fine without no stinking vegetables. Maybe her digestive system cannot.

Almost 4 weeks into this, BP today 2 hours after getting out of bed (so a morning reading) was 98/73. Been taking a Niacin supplement might need to stop that.

Take your BP three times a day for a few days and get a good average. The electronic machines are not always accurate if thats what you are using.

Appreciate it, I'm aware. I take it 3 times with 3 minutes between each reading and average it out. After work last night I was 125/83
