Wondering what options there are to be able to clean up my own skulls at home for display. I just have one otter skull at the moment but was curious to see what everyone does

Good morning, I do some. I am by no means a professional but I boil, scrape and bleach using Peroxide .

I typically use maceration,, aka, rot in a bucket of water, followed by simmering, then 30 or 40 vol peroxide that I just started adding some Clairol Basic White too.
Come out WHITE.

Hair whitener, I think.
No idea, wife picked it up at some beauty place, after I saw it in YouTube.
Mixed it with 40 vol peroxide, and got really white in 24 hrs.
Doesn't appear to have weakened skulls, I guess time will tell.

I've been using just the peroxide for decades.

Will try mix on some greasy skulls and see.

X2 I make a slurry with peroxide and basic white and paint it on the skull with a small paint brush. Let set for a day or so, then rinse off with water.

See WhiteBone Creations on Youtube.

Mop-and-glo, beauty supply peroxide, it's amazing.

Just throw it in a bucket of water with the lid on and let it soak all summer. the whole head and hide can go in and it comes out clean.

I use his methods. Can do the whole procedure in one go. No waiting round for days or weeks.
