The weather was fine both days but it did get a little cloudy for a while on Saturday. Bidding was hot on Saturday with a pretty massive crowd then averages fell some on Sunday with less participation. Selling was cut short a bit on Sunday. It's supposed to be pretty chilly this Saturday for the last day of fur sales but Saturday will be the ceremonial start for the Iditarod so there usually is a good crowd that forms, especially once the dogs are on their way. It looks like there will be some lynx left over, had a large consignment of them and probably won't be able to move the all, and no doubt some other furs left over as well but hopefully not too many. Many items will be sold out or are already sold out. Lots of selfless volunteer hours put in by the ATA to pull it off but it's a great community and family event, with lots of kids holding up fur and helping it all go down. We are fortunate to have the fur and trapping culture we have here in Alaska.
