I don't think Americans would raise a peep if they raised Soc Sec 2 years here.

But they are going to have raise the age or cut benefits. The ponzi scheme is unsustainable. Especially when you add in who knows how many crossed the border.

I believe if they ever raise the minimum age (62) for SSI eligibility, it will be tiered from how close you are to 62 at the time.

For example, say your 59 now, just 3 years away....Your new minimum SSI retirement age will be 62 1/2 yrs.

If your 29 now, your new minimum SSI retirement age will be 65 yrs.

The masses will accept this much more readily than throwing down the hatchet with a sudden change, IMO....Just a hunch, but who knows?
